Important product-information principles for jewellery sold online by Akbas Jewellers.

1. Accurate precious-metal descriptions
We aim to describe jewellery accurately and do not use terms such as gold, silver, platinum or palladium in a way that would mislead customers about the material of the item. Where a product is plated, bonded, filled or otherwise not solid precious metal, the product description should make that clear.
2. Hallmarking
UK hallmarking law applies to articles described as precious metal, subject to legal exemptions such as minimum-weight thresholds. Where an item is required to be hallmarked, it will carry an appropriate hallmark recognised for sale in the United Kingdom. Hallmarks help indicate the precious-metal fineness of an article; they are not a guarantee of gemstone quality, design, condition or market value.
3. Dealer’s Notice
Customers should be able to access the official Hallmarking Dealer’s Notice explaining approved hallmarks when we offer precious-metal articles online. The current official notice should be displayed on the website in a legible form rather than recreated from memory.
4. Product-page information
For each ring offered online, we will provide the information reasonably needed to make an informed purchase. Depending on the product, this may include:
· Metal type and fineness/carat where applicable.
· Whether the item is solid precious metal, plated or another construction, where relevant.
· Gemstone identity and material information where a gemstone is included, without implying grading or certification that is not actually provided.
· Available ring size or measurements and any sizing guidance.
· Product weight or dimensions where material to the purchase.
· Whether any certificate, branded packaging or other accessory is included.
· Condition and availability.
· Current GBP price, delivery information and a clear link to the Returns Policy.
5. Natural variation and photography
Where natural stones or hand-finished details are present, minor variations can occur. Product photographs may also appear different in colour or scale on different screens. We will not use these normal limitations to excuse a product that is materially different from its written description.
6. Care
Jewellery can be damaged by impact, abrasion, chemicals, heat or inappropriate cleaning. Follow any care instructions supplied with the product. If you are unsure how to clean or store a ring, contact us before using chemical cleaners or abrasive methods.
