Returns, Refunds & Cancellation Policy

Clear return information for online purchases from Akbas Jewellers. This policy does not reduce any rights you have under UK consumer law.

Effective date: 17 August 2026

1. Your 14-day right to return an online order

If you are a consumer buying an eligible item online, you normally have the right to return the item without giving a reason. You must tell us that you wish to return no later than 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you other than the carrier, receives the goods.

After telling us that you are returning, you normally have a further 14 days to send or hand the goods back to us.

2. How to cancel or request a return

Email contact@akbasjewellers.shop or call 020 3489 3310. Please provide your name, order number, the item being returned and a clear statement that you wish to cancel or return the order. You may also use the model cancellation form at the end of this policy, but you do not have to use that form.

Do not send a return before contacting us. We will confirm the return method and the appropriate return address or in-person arrangement. Where agreed, an eligible online return may be handled through our physical store at 451 Green Lanes, Harringay Ladder, London N4 1HE, United Kingdom.

3. Condition of change-of-mind returns

You may inspect and try on the ring only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and fit, broadly as you would be able to do in a shop. Please take reasonable care of the item, presentation box, certificates and other supplied components while they are in your possession.

If handling beyond what is reasonably necessary causes a reduction in value, we may make a deduction from the refund to the extent permitted by law. This does not affect your rights where the item is faulty or misdescribed.

4. Return shipping cost for change-of-mind returns

Unless the product page or checkout expressly states that free returns are included, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning an item when you cancel simply because you have changed your mind. We recommend using a secure, tracked and appropriately insured service suitable for jewellery. You remain responsible for the parcel until it is delivered back to us, subject to applicable law.

5. Bespoke, engraved or clearly personalised jewellery

The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply to goods that are made to your specifications or clearly personalised, for example a genuinely bespoke design or personalised engraving. Choosing an option from a standard range does not automatically make an item bespoke. If we intend to treat a ring or alteration as made to your specifications or clearly personalised for cancellation purposes, we will tell you clearly before you place the order.

The bespoke/personalised exception does not remove your rights if the item is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to conform to the contract.

6. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods

If your item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, contact us promptly. UK consumer law gives you remedies that are separate from the 14-day change-of-mind right. Depending on the circumstances and timing, those remedies can include rejection and refund, repair or replacement. For valid faulty/incorrect-item returns, we will arrange or reimburse reasonable return costs as required by law.

7. Refund amount

For an eligible cancellation of the whole online order, we will refund the price paid for the returned goods and the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option we offered for that order. If you chose a more expensive delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional premium above the standard delivery cost.

Any lawful deduction for diminished value caused by excessive handling will be explained to you.

8. Refund timing and method

Where the cancellation rules apply and we have not offered to collect the goods, we may wait until we receive the goods back or you provide evidence that you have sent them back, whichever happens first. We will then make the reimbursement without undue delay and within the period required by law, generally no later than 14 days. Refunds are made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless you expressly agree otherwise.

9. Exchanges and ring sizing

If you would prefer an exchange or need help with ring sizing, contact us before returning the item. Any exchange, resizing or alteration is subject to availability, suitability and any price difference disclosed to you in advance. If an alteration would make the item bespoke or clearly personalised and affect cancellation rights, we will tell you before you agree to it.

10. In-store purchases

The change-of-mind cancellation right described above applies to qualifying distance sales. It does not automatically apply to an item bought in our physical store. Any separate in-store goodwill return arrangement does not affect statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods.
